Vasari DAO : Launch & Details
This article is about introducing the overall system of Vasari DAO: Introduction, purpose, how we will operate and what content we provide.
Over the past couple of years, the fine art world and the NFT market have experienced numerous clashes and are slowly endorsing each other. However, there are still undoubtedly prejudices against each other. There is still a long way to go before establishing a direct, symbiotic relationship.
We are introducing Vasari Dao, a bridge between fine art and NFT created by community participation.
There are a total of 1,111 <Promethane Capsules> created by our artist, E.J. Hyun, in the Genesis collection that will constitute the early members of Vasari DAO. The official sales are scheduled for April 16th at vasaridao.com; however, we are carefully reviewing the user’s security as the top priority at all stages, so the launch date may be rescheduled.
What Do We Do as DAO?
Vasari Dao is a community created by experts in the existing art market and crypto-enthusiasts. To the art world, we introduce the infinite possibilities of blockchain and smart contracts through NFTs, and for the crypto-community, we introduce ways to read and find taste in contemporary art, as well as showcasing various artists and their artworks. Through our community discussions and voting, we help promising artists who have not benefited from the existing art market to create NFT artworks and share the profits.
Season 1: Gather, Talk, Support
With the launch, Vasari Dao is looking for members to join us on our long journey to achieve the common goal of connecting and popularizing the art world and the NFTs. It’s okay if you’re new to art and are not familiar with the crypto scene. You can share your knowledge in a field you are familiar with, and discuss how to move forward in the best direction together.
If you are an artist, you will have the opportunity to expand your worldview beyond smart contracts through our training and support programs. If you are a curator, collector, or art lover, Vasari Dao and Art NFT Market can share their evaluations of various works and get information about promising artworks of the future. If you are a Degen or NFT maximalist, you would share information about the NFT market, gain a general knowledge of fine arts, and get the opportunity to discern and purchase high-quality Art NFT that suits your taste. If you are a DeFi enthusiast, you will be able to provide the community with ways to manage the treasury troves and maximize the DAO profits together. How would you participate in the popularization of fine art?
In Season 1, Vasari DAO will implement sales of the Genesis Collection, create artist support, and connect the community through third-party apps; other added functions will gradually be integrated into Vasari Dao’s web app. As the season passes, related objects to the function will be added to the space of the Vasarians. And additionally, various experiences that combine art and Web3 will be organically integrated. The programs below are at the heart of this season and will continue to be the backbone of the Vasari DAO.
Artist Selection and Support
- Vasari Grants: If an artist applies, DAO members discuss and vote through the forum. DAO Treasury provides financial and technological support for production to artists selected as a result of voting and also provides aid with the publicity of the related content.
- Vasari Exclusive: It is the same as Grants, but it helps in the production and promotion of already produced artworks as NFTs without additional funding. Instead, the percentage of sales paid to artists is significantly higher.
Artists applying to the Grants program fill out and submit their portfolios and application plans for the NFTs they want to create on Vasari DAO’s web app. On the other hand, artists who already have a work they want to create, submit their resumes along with the work. If the artists are still not sure how their worldview can be combined with NFTs, they can freely ask questions and seek information from members of the community of Vasari DAO, and refer to the structured curriculum that will be prepared for the artists.
After the first review, the artist’s application form is pre-released to DAO members in a designated format. Based on this information, DAO members open a forum to discuss the artist’s work with the artist for a set period. At this time, experts in the existing art market, collectors who do not know art but have a strong sense of NFT collection, or the artist themselves or fellow artists can openly participate in the discussion and share their views.
During the discussion period, DAO members can participate in decision-making to support the artist by voting on the Snapshot. If the artist wants to produce multiple collections, a portion of the collection will be provided through a lottery among members who participated in the voting.
Selected artists will receive various support from Vasari DAO to onboard the NFT world. First, artists selected for the Grant Program receive direct support from the DAO Treasury to produce their work. At this time, the artist holds a ceremony to pray for an increase in the price of Ethereum, and the offering made by the artist is airdropped to all DAO members. Artists selected for both the Grant and Exclusive programs will receive support for:
- Education on how to use NFTs and smart contracts as an artistic medium
- Technical support for creating NFTs of the artworks
- Artist’s promotional content production and documentary shooting
- Help build artist-fan community
All buyers of works sold through the Vasari DAO will have the same governance voting rights as the Genesis NFT. In addition, the proceeds from the sale of works and royalties from the secondary sales will be distributed between the artist and the DAO Treasury as agreed in advance.

- Blue Chip Art Series: Delivers information on NFT art, the artist’s process and their creative experience that has previously received a lot of attention. Additionally, providing information on artists who could lead the art NFT market in the future or their scheduled sales.
- Deep Dive! Series: Provides a perspective on NFT from the aspect of those from the traditional art market, such as curators and collectors. By relating the characteristics of works of various NFTs, the readers can acquire a variety of art-related knowledge in bits and pieces, from the classics to the modern times.
- Weekly Discussion: Discussions related to art and NFT are held regularly within the community. This discussion is open to all community members, even non-DAO members, and it plays an important role in determining the direction of Vasari DAO. The closed discussion is reorganized into one article and published.
- Vasari DAO X Renaissance Labs: Our collaboration with Renaissance Labs regularly holds NFT-related Twitter space. We share information and opinions on various blockchain products and news, including NFT as well as DeFi protocol.
Anyone can join the Vasari Art Team and write articles through a simple interview. Members who share their views and perspectives as content will be given Genesis NFT and are invited to become a member of the DAO.
After the establishment of the ecosystem, we will grow step by step into both the traditional art world and the crypto world. We want to eliminate negative prejudices about NFTs that exist in the existing art market and create opportunities for more artists to engage in continuing their creative process through NFTs. As such, we will create educational materials on NFTs that are delivered in an easy-to-understand perspective for the existing art world, and deliver them to artists and art professionals through multiple channels.
Also, through our network, we will regularly invite new people from the art world to talk about views on NFTs. While delivering information on NFTs to the art world and building relationships — through continuous collaboration structure with galleries — we plan to exhibit NFT artworks that allow users to experience creative Web3 experiences in an offline space, rather than simply floating NFTs on the screens.
For crypto participants, we are creating a curriculum that allows easy access to various artworks and art-related knowledge. Through this, crypto participants will discover their taste in art NFTs — those who are deemed difficult to judge, even if they are interested, would develop an aesthetic taste to make a purchase decision. Those who complete our training courses are eligible to receive a Certificate NFT, proving that they have the knowledge we all have accumulated together through Vasari DAO.
We aim to root deep in the art-based crypto ecosystem. DAO’s Treasury is a multi-signature wallet consisting of participants selected from the community. Treasury funds are essentially used to support new emerging artists but are also operated in a variety of other forms, from promising art NFTs to purchasing tokens for various art projects and depositing DeFi. The profits will be distributed to DAO members.
Art is not easy. Buying works of art is even more difficult. Therefore its valuation was determined by a few. Galleries rely on collectors; artists have difficulty finding buyers and have not benefited from the rising prices of their works. The public, the audience, and the collectors existed in a separate world. NFTs have grown by solving these problems openly, based on the crypto community. So why shouldn’t art be treated as such? Art and NFTs have each other’s needs, and by coexisting they have the potential to solve many likely problems.
The goal of Vasari DAO is to connect the art world with the NFT world. But it should be fun, which is the essence of art. And it has to be done by everyone’s hands, which is the essence of blockchain.
