Recruiters and people you’ve contacted, are often juggling various responsibilities and commitments. Therefore, sending a follow-up email goes a long way & can be highly beneficial in maintaining communication.

In my experience, allowing 1–2 weeks before sending a follow-up is a good practice. To assist you, here’s a template I’ve successfully used to follow up with recruiters:

“Hello <Recruiters Name>,

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to express my appreciation for our discussion regarding the <Role Name> position at <Company Name>. Could you kindly provide any updates you might have regarding the progress of the interview process? I’m enthusiastic about the opportunity to potentially interview with <Company Name> and I’m looking forward to any insights you can share.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Thanks & Regards,

<Your name>”

Tip: Scheduling the email to be sent at 9 am the following morning can be advantageous, as it ensures your email appears at the top of the recruiter’s inbox. This way, it’s more likely to catch their attention promptly.
