TLDR: This is the 4th of the 8 steps in my journey of networking, interviewing, and landing my dream job during layoffs. So stay tuned!

I utilized the following online platforms to submit applications for various positions:

  1. LinkedIn jobs
  2. ZipRecruiter
  3. Stillhiring.today
  4. Indeed

For each of these platforms, I found it effective to initially set the filter to show job postings from the past week. This way, I focused on the most recent opportunities. After a few days, I adjusted the filter to show roles posted within the past day or 24 hours, ensuring that my applications were targeted towards the latest openings. This approach is particularly useful since older postings might already have been filled or are no longer a priority for the company due to changing circumstances.

Tip: On LinkedIn, consider setting up job alerts and utilizing relevant hashtags like #softwaredeveloper to discover pertinent job listings. Additionally, engage with recruiters through the comment sections of posts.

It’s important to note that recruiters and contacts you reach out to often have busy schedules. Sending a follow-up email can make a significant difference in maintaining communication & keeping your application on their radar.
