What do you mean by SaaS?

SaaS stands for Software as a Services. Typically, it means you, as a publisher, host the software.

Ex: your software is hosted on your Microsoft Azure account and your customer only need an internet connection to access it.

We know there are different SaaS flavors. For instance, some hosts part of their solution & deploy the rest into a customer environment.

As long as some of your software is hosted on Microsoft Azure: WeTransact solution will work.

What is a transactable offer?

A transactable offer means that Microsoft Marketplace acts as a payment platform in-between you and your customer.

Microsoft will invoice your customer. Then, Microsoft will transfer to you the money collected minus a 3% agency fee.

How many Marketplaces Microsoft has?

Microsoft has one marketplace called the Commercial Marketplace.
The Commercial Marketplace acts as the back-end engine to other websites like AppSource and Azure Marketplace , which are tailored for different marketing personas.

These websites use the Commercial Marketplace as the billing engine. Put differently, you integrate your software with the Commercial Marketplace. This integration is then used by the mentioned websites.

According to Microsoft, AppSource is aimed for Business Decision Makers (BDM) and Azure Marketplace for IT/Dev audience.

Your software might be listed on one or more websites, depending on what is most relevant for the users.
We will let you pick.
