With the World of Ether Beta releasing so soon, it’s time that crystals, in-game power ups ranging across all 5 types, are announced.
Read on to discover what each crystal does, and how to obtain them.
The Sun Crystal
“The fiery heat of passion shares all the temperament of the Sun.”
The first crystal is also the most ubiquitous.
In order to help preserve the value of Etherians, it costs a small amount of ETH to perform a breed.
Sun crystals, however, allow you to breed without spending direct ETH. Each Sun crystal can be redeemed for one breed.
The Ocean Crystal
“Fluidity is the way of the Ocean.”
If you wish to change an Etherian’s gender, Ocean crystals provide the way.
With one of these crystals, you can change your Etherian from male to female, or female to male. Ocean crystals can also be used more than once on the same Etherian.
This can give you siring advantages, strength advantages, and/or moveset advantages.
The Life Crystal
“If you return the wisdom of age you can gain the ignorance of youth.”
A refreshing crystal for an Etherian to consume, Life crystals reduce the age of an Etherian by one, while also resetting the Etherian’s fatigue.
The Death Crystal
“Death is only appeased in threes.”
Death crystals require a sacrifice in order to be used.
These crystals allow a player to sacrifice 3 Etherians in order to receive an Etherian egg, which is otherwise only available from the World of Ether native store.
The Astral Crystal
“No two realities are equal. Some will bend to your will. Some will break…”
Astral crystals are the rarest of all crystals and contain a power unlike any other.
When used before a breed, the offspring of the breed has its rarity increased by one. Put another way, if you were going to breed a Rare, you would instead get a Legendary.
Unlike the rest of the crystals, Astral crystals are limited, and once all are obtained, no more will be produced by the World of Ether.
Obtaining Crystals
All egg buyers receive one random crystal.
Other than this, there are two ways in which crystals can be acquired.
By Reaching Max. Level
Once you reach the final level possible, you gain the ability to find crystals.
After every 10 battles fought at the highest level, you’re given a possibility of finding a random crystal.
It will take perseverance and skill to make it this far, but Explorers who can brave the journey deserve the greatest rewards.
From Other Players // ERC-20
Perhaps the most exciting part of crystals is that each crystal type is its own ERC-20 token.
This means crystals can be traded freely between players.
