On the cusp of a new beginning…

I wrote about quitting my last job on Day Eleven, a couple of days before my last day. It’s only fair that I write about a new beginning on Day Twenty-Two, a couple of days before I start my new job.

I’m nervously excited.

And that’s a good thing! There’s always a little nervousness before starting off on any venture. Like a child learning to ride the bicycle for the first time fears falling off it. It’s like fearing the first day of school, which almost feels like an alien planet compared to the comfy confines of your home. The best part is, it actually doesn’t matter whether you’re in your first job or your fourth — taking on a new one will leave you nervously excited.

More challenges. More responsibilities.

This is probably the most challenging job I’ve had to take on, yet. It also has the potential to be the most fulfilling. I’m going to learn a lot of new things, both professionally and about myself as a person. Even though I’ve been in digital marketing for 8 years now, with the state of the industry as it is in India, I feel I’m still a fledgling, because the digital industry is evolving at the rate of knots (to quote our dear friend Ravi Shastri).

I have great support.

My parents have always had my back, all these years. They’ve never stopped me from aiming high. My little brother too, loves me unconditionally and makes coming back home so much fun. And now, I have my girlfriend to fall back upon too. It helps that she works in the same industry, so she knows what I go through. It’s fulfilling to have someone who understands your work and the stress you go through on a daily basis. I love exchanging notes with her. Another person in my family is my rakhi sister, one of my favourite friends (you know who you are), and she’s the perfect person to meet if you’re feeling low — she can regale you for hours on end with her stories and lift your spirits in no time! A huge hug and thanks to all of you, for just being you.

Well, I guess I only have to go where no man has gone before — to infinity and beyond! If you like what you read, tap the little green heart at the bottom.
