I want to tell you a story of this year, the time when we were about to graduate and partying hard all day and light as we all were placed.

I took an internship right before my college was about to end, my friend used to tease since I was always looking for projects/ internships to enhance my CV but this one was different.

I got placed in a SaaS company, as a digital marketer from my campus placements. I almost faked the whole interview to get the job and I won, so it was time to get some real skills.
However, I could land a SEO job — something which didn't excite me much initially but I knew my manager was a sort of celebrity in this industry so it would be good to get in touch with him if nothing else.

Don't wait for the opportunity

I was handling off page SEO and boy I learnt a lot about the industry and the job, it was the best 2 months of my life as far as learning is concerned.
However, I knew this wont help me much as I was going to handle PPC campaigns in my full time job. God had another plan for me( more on than below )

Talking about my manager, he worked for 11 years as a full time employee, before quitting and start working as an Independent SEO consultant. I have worked with 7 managers and this guy changed my whole perspective about the manager - as a community.

He inspired me to work harder and excel in forming long term connections, gyaan we often receive from LinkedIn Pundits but he actually showed me how it helped me him.

Now, as I finished my internship and started working full time in the company( Campus placement one), I got a shock. I was made to handle content and SEO of their sister company as they don't believe in PPC campaigns.

It was not only challenging but frustrating as well, not being able to do something you love but thanks to my internship that I knew the basics and pulling things off now at my work.

As I reflect on this transformative journey, I can’t help but encourage others to embrace opportunities that may seem unconventional or risky at first glance.

Whether you’re a student contemplating an internship, a professional seeking a career change, or someone simply yearning for personal growth, remember that stepping outside of your comfort zone can lead to remarkable transformations.

And who knows? That seemingly risky decision you make today might just be the catalyst that propels you towards your dream career, forging a path that resonates with your deepest aspirations and passions. As for me, I can confidently say that skipping that summer of fleeting fun was the best decision I ever made, for it opened the doors to a world of opportunities, growth, and mentorship
