After the service system which provides better Wi-Fi offer for specific user needs was defined, the interface and user experience of it had to be designed.

In case if user prefers the very basic Info option they don’t even need to interact with the service directly, but just connect to Wi-Fi network and use it up to 100Mb of traffic. The network will recognize each device and limit traffic to it.

After that the main interaction with service is performed through application or web-interface:

Physical environment plays very important role in the outdoor internet use experience, so there is a crowdsourced map for each spot representing all crucial elements for user experience. You cannot see plugs or water fountains on Google maps or street views or any other maps, but they are crucial if you want to stay out long. Here they will be reported by users themselves for which they get credits in system. Also photos and reviews can be added for more information:

“Market” allows choosing the offers to get credits and has options to sort them for convenience.

User can track his consumption in personal account which will also suggest better further behaviour.

User Experience:

The main goal of Eterea is to create the better urban experience for multiple users. However it is the service that aims to stay in the “background mode”. It creates options for people to get connected and spend time in the more efficient way leaving time to enjoying the city life. The main focus is on the city, Wi-Fi is not the goal, but a necessity of basic level which has to be provided to open access to other urban possibilities.
