On the First day, we went on a supply run, getting our art supplies and materials because a craftsman needs his tools.

And man, it was chaotic.

In hindsight, we really should’ve planned it out before going.

First, we somehow got the directions wrong and went to the wrong place. Mind you, this is Delhi, so the heat is pretty killer, and all of us were pretty sapped already.

Eventually, we made it to the right place. a little stationery store in Lajpat Nagar called Sitaram’s.

It was a three-story establishment with pretty much every type of art instrument you can think of available: calligraphy brushes, Xacto knives, paint knives, canvases, brushes, paints, varnishes, boards, easels, spray cans, turpentine, pencils, pens, markers, and so on.

If I actually tried to list everything I saw we’d be here for a while.

10/10 experience, definitely should try going there. They have pretty much anything you could possibly need, and the product is pretty high quality.

in the end, it took us over 5 HOURS to actually order stuff for everyone and get it packed and billed, because we had not planned it out at all, and everybody had a different list of supplies they wanted, and with well over a dozen people at once in the shop it was pretty crowded.

1/10 experience, would not want to go through it again.

Especially as I was at the end of the line. There was no space to sit, so that was 5 hours of me just standing.

Real picture of me standing around in line.

In total, I bought:

A bunch of A3 cartridge sheets

A bunch of A3 ivory sheets

A lot of tracing paper(it’s a surprise tool that will help us later)

Graphite pencils

Assorted pencils

Tape

Glue

Tacks and pins

Sketchbooks

A cutter and replacement blades

(The immense joy I felt purchasing those because the case for the refills looked sorta like the sheaths for the blades in Attack on Titan, is incredible.)

it’s missing only a few minor embellishments.

watercolor pencils

acrylic paints

a triangular scale(it comes with a sheath, and we had fun pretending they were real swords.)

a steel scale

drawing ink(*insert ominous chanting*)

among a few other minor things.

All in all, it was well worth the night trip I had to make through Delhi to get back to campus. In a cramped auto.

Fortunately, I barely made it time to grab a few bites before the mess closed. Phew!

And as for the ominous chanting, well, you’ll find out eventually what it means.
