Biology, climate change, social issues, and much more!
If you had told me I would be writing on Medium a month ago, I would first ask what is even Medium and then laughed.
However, here I am. Because of financial problems, and with the current state of the scientific sector in my country, Argentina, well, creativity must flourish.
We Argentinians are known, aside from our sense of superiority, for being the land of Messi, Tango, Maradona, scientific achievements, the best food, and much more (I told you…). But on top of that, we are known for making great things with little at hand.
When it comes to me, I’m a 25-year-old man struggling to graduate from college (maybe in March, who knows), and finally obtaining my bachelor's in Biology.
I was always into Biology. When I was young, I was the type of kid that liked reading about and playing with dinosaurs, so I think it was meant to be. Nowadays, I’m mostly interested in carnivores (not animals that only eat meat, but the Order Carnivora), marxism, communism (don’t leave please), and climate change.
I always try to mix rigorous scientific results and their relevance to society with an informal tone, when it’s possible.
Writing for me is the best way to put forward my thoughts and to generate an audience that shares or disagrees with these thoughts.
That's what mostly interested me about Medium, is the feeling that you can build a community with a diverse amount of topics, enriching the conversation and increasing public awareness.
Science communication doesn’t have to be difficult. We need to abstract from the complex scientific article language to reach bigger audiences so that everyday life people can be well informed, and encourage changes to happen.
I plan to publish weekly, at least 3–4 times per week. You can find me on environmental, science, and social-political tags and publications!
