Introduction
Hola! I’m Luis Miguel, a husband, father, and a man who lives with a deep love for God and family. My story might surprise you — it’s a journey from bustling family gatherings in Puerto Rico to late nights learning English and climbing the ladder in the American workforce. But through it all, my faith has been the constant compass guiding me towards purpose.
Growing Up in a Family Fiesta
Growing up in Puerto Rico meant one thing for sure: never a dull moment! My Hispanic family celebrated everything with a party — birthdays, holidays, even Tuesdays (just kidding… maybe). This vibrant, family-oriented environment instilled in me the importance of strong bonds and celebrating life’s little victories.

As I grew older, I felt a desire for more. So, I took a leap of faith and moved to the United States, ready to start a new chapter. It wasn’t easy. I went from hotel houseman to a restaurant worker, juggling multiple jobs while learning English. The nights were long, but I knew this sacrifice would open doors for a brighter future.
Finding My Voice in Customer Service
With my English improving, I gravitated toward customer service and later to banking. Landing a job at a cell phone company was a turning point. This role improved my communication and sales skills while teaching me valuable lessons in time management and self-reliance. It was here that I truly grasped the power of hard work and dedication and how to communicate with people effectively.
Meeting My Wife and Discovering Faith
Then, two things happened that changed my life forever. I met my beautiful wife, and together, we discovered a profound connection with Jesus Christ. Our faith blossomed, and we began to see the world through a new lens. This newfound purpose ignited a passion for serving others in the church and the community around us.
My dedication led me to become the men’s ministry leader, first at my local church and then across the district. Working with these amazing people deepened my understanding of ministry and the true meaning of service. This experience solidified my desire to help others in a more significant way.
Loan Officer with a Higher Calling
While I continued to excel in the ministry, I felt a pull towards a career that would allow me to use my skills for good. I pursued opportunities in banking and landed a dream job as a Loan Officer at a credit union. Here, I learned the nuances of wealth management, business lending, and consumer lending, all the while keeping my faith at the forefront and growing in my faith as well as my career while later I became an assistant branch manager.
Integrating Faith and Work
Despite my professional success, I knew true fulfillment came from integrating faith into every aspect of life. With the wisdom I’d gained, I began using the Bible as a guide to navigate everything from health and wealth to fitness and technology. This, I believe, is what sets me apart, and could set you apart as well.
