About Me — Pablo Santiago
My name is Pablo, a financial supervisor who became single recently. I am a father of two teenagers and in a long-distance relationship with a lovely woman from the other side of the globe. Since I was young (I’m in my mid fifties now), I had a passion for writing poems. I always hoped to become a song lyrics writer, so I began to compose verses from a variety of topics. I would write about the joy of being in love or the frustration that heartbreak will cause. About feeling rebellious, wild and free; or grounding myself to the tough realities of a life marked by limitations. Everything in my environment became a source of inspiration (and still does).
My works have been hidden in a binder for years. I hope that one day I can find a way to publish them. I used to dream that my hobby would reach the masses, and everyone would enjoy and approve the product of my inspiration. I believed that there was a possibility of having this as a way of living. Real life kicked in. The dreams of becoming a writer were just shoved into the fading memories of a bucket list that got spilled a long time ago.
I’ve been working in a financial institution for thirty years. My basic family life has been a dictionary definition. A nuclear family of four; a house with a mortgage; a little car to commute to school and work; loans and credit cards to finance vacations or emergencies; a nine to five…
