About Me — Vivian Stevenson
The introverted extrovert.
It’s nice to meet fellow writers and friends here on Medium. My name is Vivian, not Viv, Vivi, V, or anything of that nature. I enjoy my classic name; I don’t prefer it shortened. It’s funny to note that most people who shorten my name are strangers. There are exceptions for my close friends, as one of them often calls me Booger.
I work at a public library in Kentucky and have for a little over four years now. If you close your eyes and imagine what the typical librarian does, that’s me. My job title isn’t even “librarian.” It’s “circulation attendant.” Interesting, right?
I’ve lived in Kentucky since late 2016; I’m a born and raised Michigander. I’ve recently moved into a place on my own, and I have required an orange, feisty tabby cat named Phineas (as seen in the photo above). Yes, his name did come from my love for Phineas and Ferb, the animated tv show.
I love to bake, read, take walks, hang out with my friends, and drive 9 1/2 hours to see my family every once in a while. I also enjoy blogging, and I have WordPress, but I don’t use it often. My friend told me about Medium, and I immediately signed up. I’m not stuck writing about one particular thing here, and the concept of publications is intriguing to me. I enjoy the writing process more than the aesthetic, so Medium is a good balance of both.
What are my plans?
I want to connect with writers and readers alike. I enjoy writing about things I learn about myself; self-discovery, mental health, goals, challenges, etc. There will also be articles about books and goodies I bake on my profile. I dabble in digital art, so there might be articles about things I learn on my iPad and new brushes I discover for Procreate. The world is my oyster, and I hope you all will stick around with me.
