About Me Stories

Jane Kaufman is one of those people who is easy to be around. We had a lot in common from the first time we met. Last year we were both elected to serve on the board of the Rowe Center in the Berkshire mountains in Western Mass.

Chatting on our way up to the Rec Hall, Jane told me about some of the writing she’s been doing. Like me, she has a lot of stories to tell and wants to write a book about her adventures but needs to organize her thoughts to move forward.

Jane’s writing is clear and lyrical. She writes like she’s talking to her younger self in a way that’s relatable. She’s got some juicy stories and boy can she tell them! She writes like she’s sharing with her best friend or diary. She’s lived a wild life of adventure and she is deeply spiritual but never preachy.

We made a plan to meet Zoom for a writing check-in and support on Saturday mornings. We have only missed a week or two in the past six months. We share successes, struggles, and goals and keep each other on task. Sometimes when the blank page stares at me I think, “what would I write if I were Jane?”…
