Dunbar Beach: A Year-Round Favorite in Beverly Shores, Indiana
Breathtaking Views, Frozen Lake Michigan, and the Thrill of the Chicago Polar Plunge
Dunbar Beach in Beverly Shores, Indiana, is my favorite place to visit no matter what time of year. Established in 1926 as a state park, the Indiana Dunes officially became a national park in 2019. To the west, you can see Chicago; the buildings appear as if they are coming straight up out of the water.
Breathtaking views today, as Lake Michigan appears to be frozen in time. What’s interesting about today is that it is the annual Chicago Polar Plunge held every year in March. With the air temperature in the 20s and the lake temperature in the 30s, it’s bound to be a shocking experience.
