There is something about teenagers that will humble you real quick.

You think you know things? Ha! Just ask a teenager to explain their favorite topic, and suddenly, you are the most clueless person alive.

I had the audacity to ask my 16-year-old son to explain football to me, which is his absolute favorite sport. You would think I had asked him to recite quantum physics equations.

The eye rolls, the deep sighs, the “Mom, seriously?” expression; I got the full teenage attitude package.

But hey, I learned something. I can now confidently tell you that a striker scores goals, a midfielder (which is his position) controls the game, and defenders… well, defend.

It took some effort, a lot of patience (on my part, obviously), and me realizing that if I interrupted his phone time, I was officially Enemy Number One.
