This post is not about me but rather the passion for the taste and pursuit of the two beverages, and how they uniquely started in the Appalachian mountains. The short descriptions in this blog will spill over — if you will — into other posts.

February 15, 2018, birthed the craft beer passion and August 7, 2018, the coffee passion.

Beginning with the beer, Appalachian Mountain Brewery’s (AMB) flagship Boone Creek Blonde was the first tantalizing, sweet taste of local and something different. Immediately, the hints of hoppy honey overpowered any watery satisfaction from Bud Light vainly enjoyed — this is when I knew I was being transformed into one of ‘those’ craft beer people. There was something unique about these kinds of beers, and Pandora’s box opened.

The coffee passion, on the other hand, began in the great state of Tennessee as me and two others ventured to Knoxville for a concert. Upon arrival, K-Brew’s famous premium coffee pour-overs were quickly attended to.

The rich, savory chocolate taste of their Marble City brew soothed the soul of my caffeinated desires. I quickly realized a passion sprouting up — I had to dive in and learn the art of these brewing techniques.
