Absurdist is a publication for people that see things differently.
Our appeal stems from aesthetics and feel, both literary & visual.

This style guide helps editors quickly and easily fit to Absurdist, and using imagery from this style guide is as simple as copying & pasting.

And yes, the eye is watching, a quick nod to the many thought leaders impossibly seeking wisdom and meaning.

Headers

Header 1

Subtitle

By So & So [Optional]

Aim to keep headers short with quirk added to subtitles.

Fonts

If you’re feeling even more adventurous with your titles, below are a collection of fonts that we recommend, Quicksand, Aleo & Raleway.

Drop Caps

Use drop caps to add flourish to opening paragraphs. The drop caps ties every article back to our aesthetic. With a slightly offset red shadow, it evokes subtle graffiti suggesting we give zero fucks. Once again, simply copy and paste the letter and make it left justified.

Section Breaks

Use stylized section breaks where necessary, they use a lighter color palette.

Or a regular single paragraph breaker.

Block Breaks

Create colored pauses with block breaks!

As long or short as you want. Once again, just copy and paste any of the images below and make it a masthead style image. Because the image is darkened, we’ve chosen to only use blue & gray.

Suggestions

Feel free to add comments, we’ll add more brand elements as we build them or upon request!
