How laziness turned into Lazyless

For the E’ term of our studies, we took the class of “Digital Creativity: Apps, games, coding”, hosted by #AD&PRLAB, at Panteion University. At the end of our introductory lesson, we were asked to create our own app and website. Hopefully, the knowledge we gained, regarding digital tools and techniques, was rather practical and important.

At first, we went through a brainstorming process to find a problem-solving, innovative idea. From the very beginning, lack of entertaining outlets and the resulted boredom seemed to be our focus, and after numerous ideas that’ address boredom and laziness, Lazyless was born.

Lazyless is an innovative idea that helps people fight their own boredom, become more active and engage in indoor and outdoor activities that cater to their interests.

As an idea, it seems rather simple and plain, but turning it into a digital product unfolded many technical difficulties, which resulted in a spoonful of research. Additionally, it encouraged us to deal creatively with whatever problems surfaced. Of course, two key problems that we had to deal with were the existence of similar apps/competitors, which pushed us to seek more innovative features, and the need to have frequently updated digital content.

Our solution was to gather all potential activities and events in one app and then assign a team of people to track the most popular and interesting upcoming events. After we became more familiarized with the two suggested platforms, Tilda and Proto.io, we were ready to start designing our app and website, as well as the logo of Lazyless, which is displayed above.

One of our main goals and concerns was to create a platform that was appealing to people living in Athens, with cohesive, easy-to-access features that cover the needs of our users.

What is more, we hope to integrate tips we learned from our mentors, the team behind UX Prodigy, into our project. These tips are related to the user experience and general usability, such as user-centric page designing and the allocation of features on the homepage. Last but not least, our main priority is to cover the many different interests and personal preferences of the general public, collecting activities and suggestions from all kinds of fields. So, we gathered different activities that involve culture, music, gym, entertainment and literature.

Stay tuned for the progress of Lazyless!
