Re-style x Athens Fashion Club
Re-style is a start-up that gives its users the abbility to transform a piece of clothing that they already own and create something new and fashionable out of something they would not wear and probably throw away. Why not do it on their own? This is the most exciting part! Double-O-Seven, the team behing re-style, wanted to create a strong partnership with a wide known fahion school, in order to provide comfort and people to trust them with their clothes!
The idea was that the students of the fashion school would re-style the clothes in reasonable prices. So, the students would receive publicity and of course a percent of the final price. On the other hand the users of the application would have in their hands a custom made piece of clothing made especially for them with the possibility of its price rising in case its creator made a career in fashion. After a long research we found the perfect fashion school for our project… ATHENS FASHION CLUB, an internationally awarded school for its accomplishments. Among others, a milestone for AFC has been their participation at the Startupbootcamp HighTechXl in October 14th in 2013 that took place in Eindhoven, Holland!
There AFC had an outstanding performance. Among 200 high tech companies AFC was ranked among the best 20 high tech companies globally about the creation of Wearable Technology clothes, ever since they are part of the Orange Grove program while they are interested in start-up activities, this is the main reason AFC was the perfect school for us.
The next step was the contact with the organization, we sent an email, but it took a few days before we received an answer. After a couple of days they contacted us back and expressed their interest in our idea. Two months of hard work building our prototypes, designing of our official site (on Tilda) and a mobile application (on proto.io) in order to present them before our professors Betty Tsakarestou and Dr. Stavros Kaperonis.
The big surprise came when the founders of Athens Fashion Club, MariaVitinidou and Dimitrakopoulos, the people who have worked so hard to create such a name in Fashion industry, told us that they were interested in attending our presentation. We tried to show them our respect and our excitement about this partnership, finally our hard work had paid off, after presenting the idea, the site and the application for Re-style Maria Vitinidou said a few words and an idea for developing our start-up action, then she invited us to make it happen in the Fashion Gate, we didn’t believe what had happened and as far as I know we still don’t. What started as a simple project came out to a real partnership, a new idea for a start-up company supported by wide known established organization with exceptional past and promising future! The old and stable combined with something new, we only hope for the best and can’t wait to see what’s next…!
