Shippingless ; A cart that knows what you need.

During this semester in the AdandPR lab of Panteion University, in our Digital creativity; Apps, Games ,Coding we were assigned to work on an original idea and turn our plans into digital reality. Closely after, we came to a major realisation. Proposing something new and life changing can become really challenging during this day and age. For those reaching for innovation, it feels like people have already done it all. Like every idea they come up with, will be checked already done just by googling it.

There’s even a saying; You can find anything on the internet! And when we say ‘anything’, we mean ‘anything’. Even your most innovative thought could be shared by someone else or turned into a project. The solution to this; Thinking even more outside of the box. Being planets away from that said box.

So, after countless hours of brainstorming and mainly us challenging ourselves, we developed a specific mindset. Searching for something that we are used to, but nobody really benefits from. What have we accepted as a fact, though could or even should be changed? Is there something all people feel bothered by, but nobody proposes a solution to?

By this specific mindset, the idea of a service called Shippingless came up. As the name portrays, we will be developing a free shipping provider, a service, millions of buyers worldwide would deeply benefit from. An appealing and efficient idea, given the way people shop in our generation; the so called Online Shopping. Nowadays more and more people shop from online stores, not only from structured store websites, but from Instagram and Facebook stores as well. A consumers habit that does not only affect younger generations, who are reliant on technology, but is gaining ground on older people, who are adapting to the internet era.

It was time to check how original this idea is! Well, after some research only a site named https://www.freeshipping.com appeared. However, the user has to pay the cost of 13 euros for each month of the free shipping subscription services. Plus, there were no coupons, something we knew our service would offer.

Now, let’s imagine someone planning to go shopping.

In this day and age this activity starts online! Browsing through the web for all the available options, comparing prices from the comfort of your home, searching for coupons, reading reviews, checking the availability and measurements and then in the end, comes the part of visiting the actual store. Of course, it is becoming more common to skip the last part.

Online you can find all the available pieces from a store, without having to spend hours standing and searching through clothes. Waiting for an employee to help you and then waiting through the line to pay. Within seconds, with a simple categorization system that helps you locate everything easily, you can shop whatever you like. Let’s add, the importance of lower pricing exclusively for online shopping and products that are only available for an online purchase are even greater. Clearly,through online shopping, the consumer often gains not only his/her comfort but also buying opportunities.

However, shipping costs are a major disadvantage. A standard shipping services policy (in Greece) is free shipping for purchases beyond 40 euros. A fairly large amount of money to be spent at a particular store, rather than in a set of purchases the consumer may have made at the same time from different outlets. For example, if someone is shopping from 3 online stores, with the minimum shipping cost being that of 4 euros, a total of 12 euros or more will be added on the persons expenses.

This is the issue our service aims to solve.

A change us, internet people will benefit from. Making our shopping experience even happier, more beneficial, all by choosing to use Shippingless.

Now you are probably wondering.. How does it work?

Upon entering shippingless (http://shippingless.tilda.ws), and seeing the collaborating shops, the buyer will be able to click on a selected stores’ website and choose the products he/she wants to buy. The purchase will then be completed through our website, where the set of purchases is calculated, summed to a total and free shipping is provided. We have one additional feature, there are coupons so that the buyer can get even greater deals.

Ultimately, the consumer will be able to enjoy the benefits of online shopping without the weight of the added final shipping cost. In a quick, simple and easy way. Through a service much needed in the online shopping era of today.
