Secret 2013–2015
United States — San Francisco, CA
Founders — David Byttow and Chrys Bader-Wechseler
Raised over $35,000,000

Secret was an online platform that users could share their secret with other people anonymously.

Main reasons for failure:
- Market-fit: The platform lacked product-market-fit because they couldn’t retain their users in the long run.
- Anonymity: The anonymity of the platform allowed people to post inappropriate and mean comments. Although Secret tried to enforce community rules, it was already too late.
- Founders: Secret didn’t represent the vision of the founder from when he started the company. Also, they didn’t have a long-term vision, that was exposed when they started selling shares of the enterprise.

Nowadays
David Byttow is the CEO of Bold Media, Inc
Chrys Bader founded Vidly and has invested in different companies like Simple Habit, Renzu, ScriptDash, Whale, Meadow, and Zesty
