As a teacher and three-time self-published author myself, I have seen firsthand how important it is for children to be exposed to literature from a young age. Reading can broaden their horizons, expand their imaginations, and even help them develop critical thinking skills.

But have you ever thought about what would happen if more teachers themselves started writing children’s books? I’ll tell you what would happen: hilarity from their deepest creative nooks and crannies, inspiration, and a whole lot of education!

Let’s look at a few reasons why teachers could (and should) write children’s books:

Teachers have a knack for storytelling

Think about it: teachers are constantly trying to keep their students engaged, and what better way to do that than through the power of storytelling? If you’re a teacher who can turn a math problem into an adventure in outer space, or a teacher who can convert a grammar concept into an all-out movie(characters, voices, and plotlines included), then you are a teacher qualified to write and publish a book.
