When and Why do innovation takes place?
I have been working in the tech world for 4 years now and the journey has been crazy. I have worked on a wide variety of digital products from a simple e-commerce website, nearby business locator app, recommendation apps, SaaS based products, to the products that use NLP; and now the vision is so much different. Makes me think, that we are building so many smart artificially intelligent systems. But why should this be happening and when do this happens.
When do innovation happen?
1. When there is a scope of making things simpler
If you can solve a complex problem with the help of technology and give user a simple solution. A solution using which the user don’t have to think, you win. As the technology and design together has won by making things simpler in the past and will continue to do in future.
2. When there is a scope to reduce time involved.
If it can reduce efforts and time.When it can increase productivity and make things easy.
Helping various startups and while seeing digital products develop, has made me realise that the best solution to everything is really simple. But, getting to that simple solution is a challenging activity.
Why innovation takes place?
When the society changes i.e. generation’s expectations changes: Like the way we expects things around us now is different from 3 years back. Not even decade back, do you now realise how fast we are progressing.
How I buy my grocery, commute or even work has changed so much in such short span of time. And what to talk about society the way I expect the innovation is to be really smart. With the aid of the apps and evolved technology, the user behaviour has changed. User preferences have changed.
We can learn so much from the nature. The human brain for such matter a complex system. That runs on so much low power of 20 watts and still do wonders which no machine can do? The technology has evolved so much but still you see the possibilities. There is so much to do and will always have scope of improvement .
Why I think that there is so much scope is, because when I see how I have evolved in terms of skills, behaviour and other aspects of life, I am learning new things each day and adding it my system.
I see my brain as an AI program getting more training and the more I train it the more I learn and the better I become.
And there is so much to learn. Similar goes for the program, the smarter you make the algos and train it well, the get better it will perform . I guess this is possibly the simplest way to explain what artificial intelligence is.
