AirGap Vault x Nunchuk Bitcoin Wallet : Secure Bitcoin transactions
Nunchuk is now compatible with AirGap. Now, users can sign transactions via AirGap Vault on Nunchuk. This allows both Nunchuk and AirGap to share their features with each other’s users. Apart from just conducting normal transactions, this integration offers much more than that.
Nunchuk allows its users to sign transactions without any connections to your device. This is known as AirGapped Signing. Due to this feature, Nunchuk users can sign transactions with AirGap Vault. AirGap users can now benefit from the vast features of Nunchuk while Nunchuk users can now sign transactions securely via AirGap.

How to Pair AirGap Vault with Nunchuk
This guide is for those who have already set up AirGap. If you are new to AirGap, follow this guide to get onboarded to AirGap. Make sure you also download Nunchuk app. It’s available for iOS, Android and Desktop.
- Open Nunchuk app and go the Home Screen. First, we need to add a signer Key. Tap on the + button.
2. Select Add an AirGapped Key. Read the instructions carefully and tap Continue.
3. Now, you need to get the Key QR code from AirGap. Open AirGap Vault app and select the secret that you would like to use. Then select your desired Bitcoin account and choose Nunchuk Wallet.
4. Now, you’ll get a QR code, Scan that QR code with Nunchuk app by tapping on Scan QR button. Then, enter the desired name for the key.
5. After the key is added, We need to create a Wallet configuration for it. Tap on the + button against the Wallets section. Select Create New Wallet and then again confirm it on the popup.
6. Set a name for your Wallet Configuration and hit Continue.
6. Select the Key that you want as a signer for your Wallet. Hit Continue. Review the Wallet details again. If you wish, you can store a BSMS file containing your Wallet configuration.
7. That’s it. You have successfully paired your Bitcoin Wallet on AirGap with Nunchuk.
How to sign transactions with AirGap on Nunchuk wallet?
- From the home screen, open your wallet. Tap on Send button.
2. Enter the amount that you want to send. Then, enter the recipient address. You can also scan the recipient’s address’ QR.
3. Now, you need to sign the transaction. Tap on the Sign button against your member key and select “Export Transaction”. Then, select Export via QR.
4. You’ll get a QR code to scan. Open AirGap Vault and tap the Scanner button below on the home screen. Scan the QR with Vault. Select the account that is linked to Nunchuk.
5. Sign the transaction after verifying the details. You will get a QR code.
6. On Nunchuk app, tap the “Import signature” button below the QR code. Scan the QR code provided by Vault with it. Again, verify the details and tap Broadcast Transaction.
7. That’s it. You have successfully signed your first transaction on Nunchuk with AirGap.
