February is sunsetting on us but there’s still time for you to get into the groove.

It’s chilly weather for some and summer delight for others, but wherever you reside on this third rock from the sun, it’s also the time we pay tribute to Black History Month and the incredible impact of African Americans on the music scene.

BLACK HISTORY MONTH — The Music of Resistance

This month on Rock n'Heavy, we are celebrating diversity and empowerment.

To do so we’re tapping into the heart of African American contributions to music.

From the soulful blues to the rebellious spirit of rock ’n’ roll, these genres have shaped the cultural landscape we cherish today.

Challenge guidelines

This month on Rock n’Heavy, we want your stories to resonate with the beats of African American musical expression.

Any genre or any form of musical magic counts and we welcome an eclectic arrangement of stories.

Share the artists who moved your soul from well-known trailblazers or emerging voices.

We’re looking for stories that amplify the voices of artists, acknowledge the pioneers, and explore the resilience embedded in the music of resistance.

Let your words become part of a global chain of love, connecting people through the universal language of music.

How to submit

Let’s rock on together and pen those stories.

Submission is simple, you just have to feel the rhythm and tag your submission with “RockNHeavy,” “RnH Challenge,” Black History Month, and “The Music of Resistance.”

It’s time to celebrate, empower, and rock on!

Thank you for being part of this global chain of love, celebrating diversity, and empowering voices.

Let’s make this month count.

Rock on!

Get inspired

Your editors

We usually avoid tag-bombing in our publications, but this is one story we don’t want you to miss. If we’ve tagged you, you’re part of the Rock n’ Heavy family. In case you don’t wish to be tagged, please send me a private note, and I’ll remove you from this list (don’t worry, you’ll still be on the writer’s list). Authors’ handles were removed for privacy matters).
