Medium Glitch or Massive Notification Update?
Do Notifications Refresh Every 24 Hours Now?

Hello everybody,
Have you noticed the latest possible change/glitch about the notification data feed of 24 hours?
I truly hope this is just a bug in the system that Medium will sort out as soon as possible.
As you know, Medium has been a roller coaster ride lately, especially in April and May.
First, we had to say goodbye to many people who were suddenly blocked. Some were rightfully blocked for spamming 20 articles per day using AI, while others were “false positives” who had to go through a real ordeal to be reactivated. I remember losing 30 followers per day during those times, and I thought my writing had gotten so much worse that almost everyone unfriended me. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case — LOL.
Then we received an email stating that AI content would no longer be monetized, and from the first of May, it would be sort of banned from the platform. I still see many people using AI on a daily basis, but that’s a different story.
The work on the new algorithm brought about some minor glitches, one of which is what I call the “invisible claps.” I think you all have experienced not being able to see the correct number of claps, or not seeing any claps at all, despite having them.
However, what happened now has left me a bit confused: all the notifications I received, including those in the responses section, are from yesterday.
Well, you could probably argue that it’s just the way it is because nobody has engaged with my stories since yesterday, but this is not the case. I started opening a few of my stories and saw many recent comments…
I’m a really active member, I would answer comments immediately and it feels weird not being able to see the notifications. I started opening each of my stories to see whether there were new comments to answer. So, if I’ve missed any, I’m truly sorry, I hope you understand.
One possible explanation is that notifications are now delayed by 24 hours, which frankly seems nonsense to me.
The second could be that it is just a glitch, even though I haven’t read or heard about anything similar yet. I must be the lucky one…
