Starting the Year Off Right

We figured that the best way to kick off 2017 was to feature the nonprofit that inspired so many of our 2016 selections — including our Members’ Choice Prize Winner. GiveWell is dedicated to finding outstanding charitable opportunities and publishing the full details and analysis to help donors decide where to send their dollars. Their in-depth research looks to find out how much good can be accomplished with the focus on lives saved or improved per dollar spent.

Their small list of top charities has begun to grow and we are excited to learn more about their most recent recommendations — and even hope to feature their new picks in the coming months. This month’s Altruist donations will go towards GiveWell’s research and operational costs so they can continue doing what they do best — finding the most effective charities for us to support.
