sometimes i feel depressed because nothing
matters because
the truth
the logic
everything i value
doesn’t actually matter
and i have no authority

Trees

are strong stable
connected

Not
like potted plants
aloof and
restricted

The internet
might be
the opposite
of nature

stemless glasses

wrapped in polyethylene
 tied with purple ribbon
 placed by each seat at the wedding reception
 to commemorate our friends’ special day
 after the party
 extra glasses are left over
 so I take home two at the newlyweds’ request
 breaking the ribbon
 tearing off the plastic wrap
 I douse my glasses…

becoming new planes to
shave, sand, or criticize
amidst porcelain
smooth submission
stubborn sand paper
proves sui generis
filing fibers of existence
raw flesh
