inch upon inch — a white Christmas eight days early
a swirl of snow — not quite enough fora winter wonderland
Grey morning — even the Christmas lightsseem tired
twinkling still — your eyes more like mineevery year
a girl of nineand nearly a half — when the music died
frozen in time — she groans, then laughsat one more storm
The countdown begins — snowflakes of all shapesand sizes
humming — she glares atthe calendar
