Introducing Mobile Importing: a new way to build your podcast with Anchor
Starting today, you can now build podcast episodes in Anchor using audio from any app on your phone. With our new Import feature, the sky's the limit for your creativity.
Anchor has always been the easiest way to make a podcast from your phone, but until now the audio you had access to needed to be created in our free apps for iOS and Android, or uploaded from your desktop.
As of today, you can import audio from any app on your phone, so that you can easily build episodes with no creative restrictions. Some examples:
- Make a theme song in GarageBand
- Import an mp3 from an email attachment
- Access your edited audio files from Dropbox
- Finally make use of those hundreds of voice memos you’ve been recording
To pull in audio from other apps, just tap the “Import” button in your Library and browse files stored on your device or in the cloud (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc). You can also share audio files to Anchor from any app on your phone!
You can also now access all of your historical Anchor content in one convenient place: the Library tool. Easily re-use the same intro for multiple podcast episodes, pull in the interview you captured on the go last week, or do a callback to a hilarious moment from a previous episode.
(Sidenote: If you’re looking for Record With Friends or Cohosts, we’ve moved them both right into the Record tool. To add others to your recording, just tap the big red recording button and then select “Invite friends” or “Find a cohost.”)
