Pets & Animals
Recap: Animal Stories I Told in Other Publications
In honour of 100… er 101 posts! 🥳️
--
So in honour of this being my number 101 post (it was going to be 100, but while I was writing this, JJ Pryor published another article of mine in Feedium. Thanks JJ 😂), I decided to throw together my most recent animal-themed stories, that I didn't actually publish in Pets & Animals. Because you know, I LOVE animals.
AND I decided to write a bit about each of the pubs I published in too. Please check them out and support them; all are accepting writers and are genuinely fantastic publications.
1. A Letter to Myself Around age 23
(published in Dear Writer)
Dear Writer is a beautiful publication owned by Carrie. A. Kelly. Carrie asks that you write a letter to yourself in the past, present or future. There are so many great pieces on there. This was my first contribution to this clever little pub.
2. Dear New Mum Part 1 and Part 2
(published in Whiskers & Friends)
Whiskers & Friends is such a cute pub! Owned by Penelope Mayfield, the owner says, "Whiskers & Friends is a publication featuring journal entries, poetry, letters, and stories from our animal friends and family (whether they have whiskers or not)."
3. I Always Wanted a Pony When I Was Little
(published in Flint and Steel)
Flint & Steel is full of great writing prompts and an incredibly welcoming community. Ellie Jacobson, the owner, says:
Flint & Steel is a publication to inspire and spark your creativity, whether you write fiction or nonfiction. As a writer, I gravitate towards writing prompts and challenges. They are the fuel to my freewriting each morning. I want this publication to serve as a pit stop for your writing.
4. Dog Motherhood Teaches Us Lessons About What Success Looks And Feels Like
(Published in Illumination)
If you don't know Illumination by Dr Mehmet, you are living under a rock! A great, supportive community, and they are welcoming to new writers.
5. My Nature Art Makes My Heart Sing
(Published in Tea with Mother Nature)
Tea With Mother Nature is wholesome as anything. Owned by Jane Grows Garden Rooms (Jane Frost), this publication is perfectly summed up in these words from Jane:
Welcome to Tea with Mother Nature, a publication to start conversations about gardening, sustainability, the environment, nature, creativity and what it means to be a human. What has she got to teach us? What would we like to tell her about our own interactions with her natural world?
6. Knowing I Can Help Animals Brings Me Joy
(Published in Dancing Elephants Press)
Dancing Elephants Press is owned by Gabriella Korosi and is all about positivity. Gabriella says:
The vision of the publication is to build supporting connections, encourage positivity, joy, hope, caring for each other and the environment around us.
I hope you enjoy these stories and enjoy these publications! They are all excellent, so give them a go!
