#Racism_in_the_US
#العنصريه_في_امريكا
The governments of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia warned their citizens and students in the US to avoid protests and busy areas in light of the recent wave of protests and shootings. But how did the Arab social media community interact with the racial tension and growing racist attacks on Black people and other people of color in the country?
- “Are these practices of police in a civilized country that claims it protects human rights”
- “We’re the last to talk about racism , we have sectarianism, tribalism, colorism we have it all”
#HighSchool_Exam
#توجيهي
The results of high school examinations are out in Palestine. The “Tawjihi,” or the high school exams, determine the future of high school graduates and which majors students can apply for in college. And between the inspiring success stories, humor and advice for future life, many worry about the lack of work opportunities and lack of financial resources for many families to be able to send their children to higher education institutions.
- “Student #Marah_Ziyada whose family was entirely martyred in Gaza’s latest war .. got 97.6% score”
- “Those who #failed will learn some technical skill and work and make money .. Those who #passed will rotten with their diploma and then be forced to go to the one that failed and learn the industry from them”
On the Radar
#Chilcot_Report
The Chilcot report is out, concluding that the legal basis for the invasion of Iraq in 2003 was “far from satisfactory”. Although former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, under whose mandate the Iraq war was waged, stood by his decision, he also expressed regret for those lost in the war. On social media, Arabs asked “now what?” They blamed the invasion for the miserable conditions in Iraq today and demanded accountability.
#Sameh_Shukri
Pictures of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri visiting Tel-Aviv and meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were released Monday. The visit is the first of an Egyptian high official in 9 years. The pictures also included an image of the two attending the UEFA Euro 2016 final Sunday, which sparked debate around various Arab countries, between those questioning the significance of this visit, the connection to the recent normalization of Turkish-Israeli relations and previous accusations by the Sisi regime against former president Morsi of collaborating with foreign states.
