ALTverse: An Odyssey To New Land Chapter 3 (Final)
A new world that blends exploration and combat, where passion and danger are only a hair’s breadth apart. Turning your head to your monster companion, you now accept that without its company you would not survive. Apart from that belly and eyes, it just undergoes a visible change, with a pair of wings under its ribs and a mouthful of lightning. It’s like a Lego enthusiast travelling the Ship of Theseus — wondering if it will continue to be pieced together in different parts in the future.
The first day ended within a camp. A small group of monsters chattered and greeted them. Grabbing the familiar edible fruit, your mind wanders back to the time when you arrived, as if a long time has passed. Colourful huts dot the grass and a variety of little monsters weave in and out. These monsters with a small size like house-held elves provide comfortable shelter and tasty food, but so far you and your partner seem to be the only visitors here.
An odd shaped wood fort appears on the next morning, just around the edge of the camp. With anticipation and the unknown, you push open the wooden door and a spiral of light shimmers beneath your feet. White light then surrounds you and your partner. Where will the journey begin this time?
Information so far
Small monsters: a clannish race of significantly lower height, with cross-species biological characteristics and non-aggression features. They dwell in homely places by groups, and are productive in a swarm-like manner. Given said, small monsters are highly self-organised creatures that do not obey or follow orders from other monster owners, and do not share common physicalities within their kind.
Camps: Small monsters are rare builders who are capable of pulling off wooden and stone forts in the colony-camp. Some forts have specific functions, those observed so far include storage, food/herb production and teleportation, the exact mechanism and rationale for which is unknown and will need to be analysed with further reports from monster owners.
Highly Confidential: Reports on organ fusion are now surging. An increasing number of owners witness their monsters absorb other parts from other creatures, with only a considerable few monsters being lucky enough to possess new skills and abilities through fusion. This random enhancement includes and is not limited to fire balls, lightning, skin armour, and high-speed. It is suspected that the planet possesses extremely high levels of free energy, and no radiation-based pathological reactions have been reported by owners.
