Note from the editor

AthensLive is newly founded media startup based in Athens, Greece dedicated to covering the countries most important and under-reported stories from on-the ground. Its mission is to change the agenda in Greece’s media, by creating a sustainable independent media outlet and fostering a culture of excellence in journalism in a widely corrupted landscape. AthensLive is an innovative, dynamic media-house with passion for great storytelling. We wish to make “The Greek Story” easier for our readers around the world to understand. Our team is a collaboration between Greek and international journalists and photographers who have a passion for great storytelling and a commitment to verified, interesting and informative media. AthensLive is not affiliated with any mainstream Greek media organization, and it does not receive receive any political donations or traditional advertising revenue. AthensLive has no political agenda. We are a nonprofit organization aimed to make change in Greece’s media, not just cash.
