Cubemint Notes #3: Why and How to Connect Your Metamask Wallet
Besides being a metaverse platform where you can interact with sounds and people at any given time, we aim for Cubemint to be an extension and support to your ‘real’ or ‘physical’ life.
From the start we communicated that the audio metaverse is just as much a creator’s platform as an experience platform. The app lets you experiment with GPS registered augmented audio spaces, sounds and your own voice to an extent where you can own and trade them.
You can manage these assets in Cubemint through a Metamask wallet. This feature also allows you to mint your own augmented audio spaces and sounds within the platform.
In this article we will take you through how to set up a Metamask wallet (if you haven’t yet) and how to connect it to Cubemint.
Set up a Metamask wallet
Download the Metamask app at https://metamask.io/
Metamask has iOS and Android native apps for mobile and Chrome, Firefox, Brave and Edge browser extensions for desktop. Please remember that Cubemint is currently only available to test for iPhone users.
Launch the app on your device and tap ‘Create new account’
When you set up an account you will get a public key. It could be in all uppercase or mixed-case, but will always start with 0x. Your public key is used to encrypt messages or check the legitimacy of a digital signature automatically. Your public key also has a corresponding private key, which is only known to you.
By creating an account, you will also get a Secret Recovery Phrase that allows you to access your funds in case your device crashes or your browser resets.
Important: safely store your Secret Recovery Phrase and private keys. If you ever lose them, no one will be able to help you recover them and therefore you won’t be able to access your funds.

Connect to your wallet in Cubemint
Now that you have set up your Metamask wallet, you’re one minute away from minting and managing your assets in Cubemint!
Please follow the next 5 steps to get your previously set up Metamask wallet connected. If you haven’t downloaded Cubemint yet, do it here.
- Open Cubemint and click on the menu (three-bar-icon) on the top left
- Tap ‘Connect with Metamask’
- Cubemint will automatically open the Metamask app where it will ask you to connect to our website
- Metamask will redirect you back to Cubemint where you will have to go through one more confirmation with Metamask
- Clicking ‘OK’, Cubemint will automatically reopen Metamask so you can sign the confirmation
Your wallet is now successfully connected to Cubemint! Click OK to continue.
