As humans, we crave for the connection of others, whether we realize it or not. As writers and content creators people want attention, they want to be noticed. At some point along the way many of us lost the desire to output authentic content, we stopped telling stories from the heart. Instead we began selling stories. We try to provide a catchy title in order to grab a potential reader’s attention, yet mostly have no real substance.

A few of my close friends Gabriel Chavez and Franklyn François started writing on Medium. They decided to try and make a difference. They decided to have a voice. They shared their raw thoughts and emotions. They have written on the themes of identity, shame, and about rejection. Through them, God really stirred my heart.

I know people have thoughts and feelings that they should publicly voice. People struggle. People learn. We should all share our experiences and solutions. I personally read a lot of blog posts and this is one of the biggest ways I learn and engage with people. I know I’m not the only one like this.

A lot of people crave authenticity and aren’t being fed it.

Depravity

As humans we often reflect and find that we are broken and depraved, we cannot go through life alone, we need to pour life into others, and we need life to be poured into us. I believe there is a deep need in our society for authentic community. As a Christian, I believe we are called to be in community. Jesus said that the 2nd greatest thing we are to do is to “Love others as yourself.” Christ knows that we were created to love and connect with each other. Why are we not expressing this love enough?

After talking with Gabriel Chavez and Franklyn François about this, we decided to start this publication. We desire to share our thoughts and feelings, talk about things that matter to us, and be raw and real. We desire to be a voice speaking truth or asking tough questions. We want this blog to be a living embodiment of our own thoughts and struggles externalized to share with the World 🌎🌍🌏.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you ever want to talk, we’re all in this together. You are not alone.

Sincerely, a broken individual in pursuit of authenticity, Benjamin Diuguid
