We have reached the 21st Chapter of the series. And, to make it interesting, I thought of picking up something that really bothers you. I mean something that really really really bothers you.

How have been your experience with cockroaches at your home?

Or, the lizards at your home?

Do they make you panic? Or, create a hell lot of anxiety within you?

Well here I’m not talking about the cockroach, or the lizard, but here I’m talking about a very sweet little creature. This little one is just like a naughty child who is so troublesome that you wish to scold but can’t help yourself.

How many times have these little creatures “The Squirrels” have made you crazy? I believe you can’t even remember. Anyway, here I’m going to list down few uncommon ways through which you can shoo them away. Like literally “shoo them away”.

But before that, have you ever thought why are these little squirrels find your car so attractive? Because the car’s engine provides them the right warmth and this warmth makes them have their nesting spot right under your car. Also, these squirrels keep looking for things that they can chew to help control the constant growth of their teeth.

Ok, got it? I’m moving ahead.

1. Sealproof Your Garage

You think you’re smarter than the tiny one? No! You aren’t. The tiny one can get inside even with a 2-inch hole. So to be wiser, you need to seal-proof your garage. Use stainless steel mesh or sheet metal to cover all the tiny holes of your garage. Just don’t let the spooky ones get inside.

2. Give them the taste of their own medicine

How about making them realize the adversity that they are bringing in your life? How about making them feel the same panic? Obviously, you will not go that harsh, but you will make sure that they are afraid of you and your car.

For this, you need to consult a mechanic and ask which rodent spray should you apply that will keep the squirrels away. Taste deterrents, such as bitter apple spray, help in keeping these creatures away from your car.

3. Open The Doors

If you find them residing inside/ beneath/ under your car and you’re not able to fix the nesting spots, consider leaving the doors open for few hours to a day. This will help the squirrels to move out and find a new place as they will not be getting much warmth with the doors open. This is such a peaceful way to make their way out but this will not ensure that they will not come again.

4. Remove Bird Feeders

If you have any bird feeders at your home or nearby, knowingly or unknowingly you’re inviting the squirrels to come and eat away your car wires. Remove the bird feeders. Why would you be placing such when you’re facing so much trouble?

5. Light it up

Place a bright light under the hood. Make sure that the light doesn’t catch fire, but is fair enough to threaten away the squirrels. They don’t like the bright light and will not be nesting around.
