Before we can answer that, we need to understand the true definition of back-linking with context to the web-world.

What is Back-linking?

Back-linking is a method of external linking in which a user is directed from one website to another. So, back-links are like wormholes between two independent website,which once clicked from one website takes the user directly to another website.(Hassle-free! Zoop!)

But how does this help?

As said earlier, back-links are a part of SEO, hence they go hand in hand with the behavior of organic traffic, which happens when a user visits your website via search engine’s results page (SERP.🐍)

Back-links however play a very important role in defining the attributes of your website to the web crawlers.(what are crawlers?) Let me explain this a bit.

For example, if your website is back-linked to multiple websites talking about F&B (Food and Beverage,) the crawlers will analyse your site, and will index it with reference to the keywords around the F&B industry. Now, this website would gain visibility in the SERP for F&B keywords. Hence, we can deduce that Back-linking play a vital role in proper indexing of your site on internet🌐.
