The Axie community is growing every day! Recently, we’ve been getting a lot of questions from newcomers on how to get started. In this article, we’ll go through the steps!
Step 1: Try out our tutorial and see if the game’s art and gameplay appeal to you.
At Axie Infinity we believe that one of the problems for Blockchain games is that they require a monetary commitment up front before players are even sure if they find the game interesting. That’s why we came up with a free tutorial so players can try the game before making any economic decisions.

Step 2: Aquire ETH and send it to a DApp-compatible wallet
Find the tutorial interesting and want to get started? You can buy Axies with Ether, a cryptocurrency that powers decentralized applications.
You can purchase Ether from an exchange that sells Cryptocurrencies. We recommend Coinbase.
Next, send the ETH to your wallet. Metamask is a popular choice for playing on desktop, while mobile wallets like Trust Wallet and Coinbase wallet can be used to access Axie Infinity from your phone.

Step 3: Start your Collection
Now that you have some ETH and a wallet installed, you’re ready to start building your team. We’re building out a “try before you buy” model so if you want to experience the game a bit before buying — stay tuned!

Recently, we’ve started an “Axie Scholarship” for promising new community members.
Typically we send over 3 Baby Axies.
Axies have 3 stages before they can be used as an adult in battle: Egg, Larvae, and Petite.
Players will need to submit a transaction to morph their Axies from Larvae →Petite and then another to morph from Petite →Adult.
Step 3: Start Battling!
You have some Axies now so you’re ready to start battling!
