I meant to this way back when I posted about the class, but it quickly slipped my mind. As a new expansion reveal is expected this year, the talks about Tinker are around and I thought it’s time I do the overview.

First of all, I want to address the language of these articles. All of them are at least a bit “in-character”, ie written by someone in Warcraft Universe. In all honesty, it sounded better in my head and looked so as well, because the way I imagined these were not text posts on medium, but sort of a notebook. So try and imagine them that way!

  1. Tinker — Introduction (WoW Class): In this one you’ll be reading an introduction text written by a goblin and gnome. Not the apex of my writing to be honest. It sounded better in my head, and probably would’ve been better if I asked a graphic designer to work on it.
  2. Tinker — Mechanics: The title is pretty self explanatory. It explains the core mechanics of the tinker class, such as converto and steam level, or the special type of abilities called “Maintain.”
  3. Tinker — KICK (Tank Spec): Tinker Tanks rely on flat damage reduction and can adjust defense vs damage through their mechanics.
  4. Tinker — BICK (Healer Spec): Tinker Healers mostly require close range and through different abilities, can scale the power of their skills.
  5. Tinker — HACK (DPS Spec I): This one is basically your typical Shredder/goblin suit, fighting at medium range with buzzsaws and rocket launchers.
  6. Tinker — PICK (DPS Spec II): The final specialization has a minion/turret focus, putting up factories that pump minions or turrets that attack the enemies.

So that’s all! I’ll place a link to this article on all the above articles for quick access.

I’d like to go over these once more to polish a bit and especially improve wording at some point because I’m aware I can sound more complicated than I mean to be. And as such, I’d love to answer any questions you might have.

What do you think? Does this direction of design make sense to you? Do you think we’ll ever see tinkers? Let me know!
