Stay Connected Easily With Update 7.1

Like always, we’ve been listening to our users and trying to come up with features to make the experience better for everyone. We understand that group leaders need the ability to keep their groups safe and easy for anyone to use, so we’ve continued to work on features that can make that happen.

This March, we’re introduced a variety of user experience improvements so staying connected is fun and easy. Here’s what’s coming in Update 7.1!

“My Page” is now “My Activity”

Your “My Page” is now “My Activity” and is easier to access. The “My Activity” button will appear at the top right of the Home page for easy access to your bookmarks and events across all your Bands, so you can manage multiple groups with ease!

Parental Protection Settings

We’re taking some more steps to make sure our app is secure for minors. We are working on a permission feature for parents who are comfortable with their teens using the Discover feature in our next update.

Until then, users under the age of 18 will no longer be able to search for new groups using our Discover tab. We recommend you invite new members through an invite link or code.

Send Text or Email Alerts to ALL Users

As you may or may not know, our Subscriber feature allows admins and co-admins to send an email notification to non-members. With Update 7.1, we’re upgrading the Subscriber feature to allow admins to send as a text or email to both Subscribers AND current members, so you know they’ll get the message, even if they’re not on BAND.

In order to send an SMS alert, members must already have their phone number on display.

Get More Help from Your Co-Admins

Managing a large BAND can be tricky, so we’re improving the ability for Co-Admins to manage some of the important settings to take some of the burdens off of the primary Admins when they are busy or unavailable.

Co-Admins are now able to manage tags, add/edit color-coded Calendars, add/edit/delete public Chatrooms, enable or disable New Member posts, and modify what information new members can to include or display (birthday, phone numbers, new member alerts). Individual members can choose to hide their own display information.

Calendar Updates

• Improved ability to print Calendars (PC/Web Only) in both the Calendar or ListView.
• Additional reminders for upcoming Events and RSVP will now appear on the feed

• Relocated the ‘Settings’ Icon in Calendars to make it easier to find, so it’s now easier to locate the export functions.
• Added a function to manually force Sync external Calendars, instead of waiting for automatic sync.

Chat Updates

• Improved photo attachment display (Android-only, for now)
• Chat Requests will be automatically deleted after 30 days
• 50 Chat Requests can be deleted at once, up from 20 before.

Other Updates

• Before writing a post, users will see a small note revealing that Band’s privacy type (Secret, Closed, or Public).
• You will now be able to see a BAND description, keywords, and whether it’s a Public, Closed, or Secret Band before you join

• Stay organized by marking ALL your notifications as read
• To prevent members from getting bombarded with notifications and help prevent them from turning everything off, we’re limiting “Important Notices” to three times every 24 hours.
• We’re revamping the sticker shop and adding some new free stickers for everyone to enjoy.
