In October, we focused a lot of revamping various features to improve the user experience (UX) on the bantu platform. In the first part of a new series called #UXwithbantu, we’ll share with you the improvements we’ve made.

Volunteering opportunities on www.bantu.life

On www.bantu.life, we’ve curated many volunteering opportunities posted by non-profits and VWOs.

However, we’ve found that there is a lot of friction when signing up for projects. With these new changes, we have solved these major pain points that will make your experience on bantu.life so much more seamless.

Thank you to our users who helped by contributing their invaluable feedback.

1) Creating your volunteer account on bantu.life

So you are interested to volunteer your time to help the less fortunate?

We make it really easy for anyone to get started with volunteering. All you have to do is fill in your email, name, and contact number. Once done, you can use this account to manage ALL your volunteering opportunities across ALL organisations in one place.

So say bye-bye to the days where you have to create a new account (or fill up a new form) each time you volunteer with a different organisation.

To get started, type your email.
The system will then prompt you for your name and mobile number. Creating an account is as simple as that!

2) Setting up your volunteering preferences in two simple steps

  1. Select causes that you care about — this helps our platform recommend suitable volunteer opportunities you’ll love when you browse for projects.

2. Add skill sets that you have— we want to help you engage your skill sets when you volunteer.

From technical skills such as “Accounting” and “Photoshop”, to soft skills such as being “Friendly” and “Good with Children”, specifying your skill sets will help organisations understand how they can engage you better.

Select from our list of skills, or simply add your own!

🎉 Congratulations, you’re done with signing up!

Now you can focus on volunteering. To start, look through our huge list of volunteering opportunities available.

Note: at bantu, you’ll only need to provide specific information when you are signing for volunteering slots and the information is requested by the non-profit organisation (e.g. citizenship, occupation).
