The $SCRAP airdrop will be happening on March 24th, 2021 (Wednesday) 10PM GMT+8 / 2PM UTC / 10AM EST!
What is $SCRAP?
$SCRAP is an ERC20 token on the Matic sidechain which serves as Battle Racers’ progression currency. Its primary purpose is to allow players to upgrade car parts, in which all stats of a certain part will be increased by a percentage until it reaches a maximum level. This play-to-earn token can later be mined through parts salvaging and competitive races (coming soon) and may also be won as prizes from promotions and tournaments.

During our initial airdrop, Battle Racers NFT holders will receive 1 $SCRAP for every car part they own based on the NFT snapshot that took place last week. As of March 17, we have counted over 11,000 Battle Racers parts and crates across 700+ wallets, which brings us to a total of over 14,000 $SCRAP to be minted!

Where can I claim the $SCRAP from the airdrop?
You will be able to view your $SCRAP on the Battle Racers Inventory page. Just log in to the Ethereum address which contains your parts and crates using MetaMask or Arkane Network.
Are there gas fees I need to pay to get my $SCRAP?
Since $SCRAP will be minted on the Matic sidechain, gas costs are going to be waived. There will be no other fees required to claim your $SCRAP from the airdrop.
Where and what is my Matic wallet and address?
Your Matic address will be the same as the Ethereum address you used with and connected to the Battle Racers dapp.
How much $SCRAP will I receive?
You will receive 1 $SCRAP per car part that you own. After the airdrop, you can view your total $SCRAP count on your Inventory page.
Do I get more SCRAP for my Legendary parts?
No, only 1 $SCRAP will be given per car part regardless of its rarity.
Do I need to open my crates to receive $SCRAP?
No need to open your crates. You will automatically receive $SCRAP depending on the number of parts it contains:
- Gold Crate: 4 car parts = 4 $SCRAP
- Silver Crate: 3 car parts = 3 $SCRAP
- Bronze Crate: 2 car parts = 3 $SCRAP
- Wood Crate: 1 car part = 1 $SCRAP
Some of my parts are on the Matic sidechain while others are on Ethereum. Will they still be counted?
Yes, as long as the NFTs are viewable in your Inventory under the Parts, Parts on ETH, and Crates tabs. They are counted in the snapshot and you will receive the equivalent $SCRAP during the airdrop. Please note that parts that are currently listed for sale in the marketplace are not displayed in your Inventory and will not be counted.
Can I start using my $SCRAP immediately after the airdrop?
You will be able to use $SCRAP to join competitive races and upgrade your parts later when each of these features are rolled out. A project roadmap will be released soon and we will announce the launch dates for these features when they are available.
Can I win $SCRAP from Practice Races?
No, but once we launch our Competitive Races feature you will be able to win $SCRAP rewards through racing. We will share more information in a separate article soon.
How much $SCRAP will I need to upgrade parts?
It depends on the rarity of the car part that you want to upgrade. We will share more information in a separate article soon.
How can I earn more $SCRAP?
Aside from the planned features (competitive races and parts salvaging), we will also be awarding $SCRAP during occasional giveaways and future tournaments.
On what exchanges can we buy $SCRAP and how much will it cost?
We will not be selling $SCRAP, so its value will be largely determined by the community. Token owners have the option to sell theirs in NFT marketplaces that support ERC20.
Where can I trade $SCRAP with other people?
You will be able to trade the $SCRAP token within the Matic sidechain through MetaMask or Arkane Network. Corresponding MATIC gas fees will apply.
We are also currently working on a bridge to transfer $SCRAP from the Matic sidechain to the Ethereum main network, and vice versa. This will allow $SCRAP trading within Ethereum, and will be launched soon after the $SCRAP airdrop.
Can we stake SCRAP?
There are no immediate plans for staking at the moment but we are exploring that option. We will make an announcement once it is available.
