You don’t need to work more hours to get more done. You need to apply your strengths to get more done. It would help if you played to what you do well.

When you play to your strengths while managing your time and energy, you work smarter, not harder.

1. Take an Assessment

A strength is when you are nearly perfect at something. It’s something you’re great at, and it’s something you are known for. You should assess what areas of your professional life you are good at. Are you a great writer? Are you a good communicator? Are you good at math?

Do a quick self-assessment and then take a formal strengths test. Some options are the CliftonStrengths test by Gallup, the High 5 test, or the VIA Character Strengths test. They can help show you what you are talented at, and you can excel with those strengths.
