Whether it’s mac and cheese, pizza, hot dogs or steak, everyone has a favorite food — yes, even baseball players.

Let some of the Oklahoma City Dodgers players tell you about their favorite foods, best restaurants to visit on the road and, of course, their favorite desserts.

We’ll then tell you where to find similar items to enjoy while watching an OKC Dodgers game at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Favorite Meals

Ben Holmes: “I like to cook different things. I have a bunch of different recipes that I get off of Pinterest that I like to play around with in the offseason…I love Jambalaya; Southern food…I’m from Oregon so we don’t have that type of food, so I had to learn how to make it.”

Josh Sborz: “I’ll eat Italian food. Some ravioli, lasagna, something like that.”

At Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark: Feed your Italian fix with macaroni — on top of pizza — at the Pi Pizzeria by ordering the Mac and Cheese Pizza, located behind section 103.

Dennis Santana: “My favorite food is ‘the flag.’ In the Dominican (Republic), it is rice, beans and chicken… It’s what I eat back home every day…I make it myself and my wife makes it.”

At Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark: Salsa, in section 112, is home to everything an Americanized version of “the flag” requires, plus nachos, tostadas, burritos and tacos. During ¡Celebración Cielo Azul! June 20–23 and July 19–21 additional food items inspired by traditional Latin fare will be available throughout the ballpark.

Justin Grimm: “I’m a big steak guy. A lot of guys I know, they get tired of steakhouses, but not me. I always start out with 12 oysters, a nice big steak and brussels sprouts, and solid mashed potatoes.”

Jaime Schultz: “I like plain steak. There’s a marinade in my wife’s family that has been passed down. It’s pretty simple, but plain steak with asparagus and roasted potatoes, and you just drizzle the sauce over the top. Basically, any type of steak.”

Adam McCreery: “Ribeye with truffle butter.”

At Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark: We get it, baseball players like steak. Grab a (Philly cheese-) steak of your own at Steakadelphia in section 112.

Stetson Allie: “I like steak — peppercorn crusted — mashed potatoes and a veggie. I like to keep it clean.”

At Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark: For fans trying to “keep it clean,” vegetarian options are available at the Fresh Market near section 103, which offers healthy and organic food options, including salads, wraps, house-made salsas and hummus.

On the Road

Justin Grimm: “[San Francisco] is just a really good city. I love their ballpark; everything about it — a lot of good eating spots. I’m into eating…When I was playing in Chicago, I really got intrigued with a lot of steakhouses in that city. One of my favorite things to do with my wife is go to dinner since we don’t get a lot of time together, and so…she’ll go ‘what are you hungry for?’ and it’s just ‘steak.’…I feel like (steakhouses) have the best menus.”

Will Smith: “Back home in Louisville, there’s this great place, Doc Crow’s — probably one of my favorite barbecue places…The food is really good. It’s a really good atmosphere. It’s downtown, which is really cool, right next to the KFC YUM! Center…Just a good place to go.”

Louis Head: “Franklin in Austin is the best. It opens at 9 a.m., the line starts at 6 a.m., and it sells out by 10 a.m. every day.”

What’s for Dessert?

Blake Gailen: “I’ve got a sweet tooth, so that makes it hard. I’d probably go the Great Wall of Chocolate at P.F. Chang’s, subtract the raspberry sauce. That’ll do it for me every time. It’s the perfect combo for me since it’s not too cakey and it’s served cold. I like cold cake. It’s dense, so that’s right up my alley.

“Reese’s always do it for me. I’m not that picky when it comes to chocolate, I just don’t want fruit or fruit sauce on it. But I can dip fruit into the chocolate. Like a strawberry dipped in chocolate I’m good, but chocolate with strawberry sauce on it, no chance.”

Jaime Schultz: “I’m a huge dessert fan, but I’d say my favorite is crème brûlée or like a cheesecake.”

Stetson Allie: “Honestly, my girlfriend’s Nutella banana crepes. They’re bomb.”

Louis Head: “I like pumpkin pie…Thanksgiving pumpkin pie is the best… Maybe some ice cream sometimes… I’m thinking pecan pie. Hot pecan pie with ice cream.”

Josh Sborz: “Cookiewich from Insomnia Cookies.”

At Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark: Drop by Sweet near section 103 for funnel cakes, helmet ice cream sundaes and more. And, of course, there are Dippin’ Dots stands located throughout the ballpark.
