Nutella from 3 ingredients

I have tried numerous times to copy the famous Nutella by using natural ingredients and most of the times it did not taste the same. This particular one is a great recipe, made of only 3 simple ingredients. The final result is not as smooth as Nutella (but can get if you follow my advice below), and the taste is very similar.

Ingredients (makes 1 jar):

2 cups of hazelnuts

1/2 cup of maple syrup

4 tbs of raw cacao powder

1 cup of water

A pinch of Himalayan salt (optional)

Bake the hazelnuts at about 180C for 10 minutes, then allow them to cool down.

Once they are cool, blend the hazelnuts very well (note this is something that I will take into account next time for a smoother consistence). You want to allow a few good minutes when blending. Note: For a crunchy texture, you can blend them less. Add the maple syrup and raw cacao powder and mix everything up. If you have a food processor or a good blender, this is even better. Make sure these three ingredients are mixed well.

Add water gradually. The more water you add, the smoother it gets.

Add to a jar.

This is how it looks.

Enjoy!
