Hi guys,

I’ve been wanting to do a writing prompt for a while, so here it is.

But first, a quick shoutout to TJ Condon — The Bigger Picture’s first Patreon supporter — for brainstorming prompts with me and coming up with this awesome idea.

Here are the details:

Prompt: What stopped you and how did you get started again?

Guidelines: I’m looking for creative non-fiction and personal essays, up to 1,000 words. Each writer is only allowed one entry. (Please follow TBP’s guidelines for formatting, etc.)

Getting published: After reading all of the submissions, I’ll publish up to 5 pieces in The Bigger Picture under the “Writing Prompts” tab. I’ll also choose my personal favorite to feature on the home page.

How to submit: Simply fill out this Google form. Make sure you submit your story link in DRAFT mode; already published work will not be considered.

Deadline: Friday, September 18 at 11:59 p.m. ET

What I’m working on

Again, you didn’t ask, but I finally published that article about cancel culture. Definitely check it out if you’re interested in how I literally charted celebrity misconduct from the past 3+ years.

Here’s a taste:
