So what types of deals & companies will we look at? Glad you asked…
Invest Profiles 🧬
1 — Core: ~ 5–7 Investments Annually
These deals will primarily include Seed stage companies working at the intersection of biology & engineering. We’ll look for transformational scientific insights that can form the basis for platform type companies to emerge. We’ll invest across therapeutics, diagnostics, services, & manufacturing. Really as long as its a platform nothing is out of bounds.
We will offer select allocations to BIOS Angels members for a total of $500K — $1M when appropriate to participate.
2 — Series As / Follow Ons: ~ 3–5 Investments Annually
These deals will primarily include Series A stage companies working at the intersection of biology & engineering. We’ll invest in platform companies across therapeutics, diagnostics, services, & manufacturing, really as long as its a platform nothing is out of bounds.
We will offer select allocations to BIOS Angels members for a total of $1M — $2M when appropriate to participate.
3 — Series Bs / Follow Ons: ~ 1–3 Investments Annually
Same as above^^, but for primarily Series B stage companies.
Here we’ll offer select allocations to BIOS Angels members for a total of $5M — $10M when appropriate to participate.
4 — Community Sourced Deals
We welcome ALL BIOS Angels Members to bring deals to the table for the syndicate to deliberate over. After diligence, should the syndicate choose to move we will open allocations to the group to decide over.
How We’ll Operate 🌎
For all deals, BIOS Team / Alix Ventures Investment Team will prepare an 1 - internal investment memo to be shared with ONLY the syndicate, 2 - market overview & research report, & 3 - provide non-confidential company materials to aid in diligence.
We’ll aim to move quick, often going from syndication deliberations to final allocations in 1–2 weeks.
Should you want to participate simply raise your hand & based on the allocation available we’ll invite those to invest via a pooled entity known as a Special Purpose Vehicel or SPV for short (Note — associated fees & structure may vary).
