Hello everyone,

We wanted to give a brief update on the current status of Bithereum and what can be expected as we move forward in 2020. Though we have been quiet for some time, we would like everyone to know that development work has been going on for this entire span and that Bithereum is still alive and kicking. Proof-of-Uptime v2.0 (https://medium.com/bithereum-network/bithereums-proof-of-uptime-v2-0-69da7c1ca17) has continued to go strong week-after-week with the last round of payouts being issued to around 150 nodes! We thank everyone for their continued support of the network and welcome any newcomers wishing to be rewarded for running BTH nodes.

We also wanted to address that we are aware that the node map has been down for quite some time, and will work to revamp it entirely to make things even better once we have launched nimbleNODE.

As for development, we have been working on nimbleNODE for months now and are finally close to where we want it to be. To be specific, we are currently on the 14th iteration of the app. When it comes to wallets, security is something to be taken extremely seriously, so we have done everything we could to make it completely bulletproof with this. It has taken a lot of extra time, but the peace of mind it’ll give users is worth it in our opinion.

Once it’s complete, running a BTH node will be easier than anyone can imagine, and all of your funds will be accesible from the tip of your fingers via the mobile app, from anywhere in the world! During the time since we have announced nimbleNODE to the community, we have been working extremely hard to incorporate some added features. These added features include end-to-end encryption, remote access, and a bunch of other important aspects that we felt were paramount to enhancing user experience upon launch including AES256 encrypted node backups. Essentially, the Bithereum nimbleNODE will be the ultimate mobile wallet/full node experience, all the while providing users with PoU rewards every week.

You can find more information about this here: https://medium.com/nimblenode/nimblenode-launch-update-48a975448a49. We will be releasing another blog in the near future once we are ready to announce a hard date and begin accepting payments.

Until then, stay tuned and get started on earning BTH rewards through PoU!

If anyone has any questions regarding BTH or nimbleNODE, please feel free to reach out to us via Discord or Telegram.
